Two tourists rescued after being trapped by rising tide in Thanh Hoa

Two female tourists were rescued in Thanh Hoa Province after becoming stranded on coastal rocks when rising tides cut off their route back to shore.

Police in Thanh Hoa Province said rescue forces successfully brought the two women to safety at around 2.20 pm on May 18 after they became trapped near rocky outcrops at Sam Son beach.

Earlier that afternoon, the two local tourists, aged 42 and 32, had visited Sam Son beach and stopped to take photographs near the rocky area of Truong Le Mountain.

Authorities said the pair failed to notice the tide rising rapidly and were soon surrounded by seawater, leaving them unable to return to shore and at risk of being swept away by strong waves.

At approximately 2 pm, rescue teams were deployed to the scene and managed to reach the stranded tourists before safely escorting them back to land.
