Vung Tau surveys plan for 10 kiometre cross-mountain route

Authorities in Vung Tau Ward, HCM City, have begun surveying plans to open a more than 10km route across Lon Mountain aimed at improving tourism access.

The survey was carried out by local authorities together with forest rangers, police and representatives of Ho May Tourist Area.

Under the proposed plan, two new connection points would link Vi Ba Road with Alley 444 Tran Phu Street through the existing internal road network of the Ho May tourist area.

One connection point would run from Vi Ba Road to the southern gate of the tourist site, while another would be built on the northern side, creating a continuous cross-mountain route.

Authorities said the existing internal roads inside the tourist area would be used for public access, allowing residents and visitors to travel between the two sides of Lon Mountain.

The project is expected to improve access for walking, hiking and sightseeing activities while also helping emergency services respond more quickly to forest fires in the area.

Local officials said the route could become a new tourism product for Vung Tau while enhancing forest protection efforts.
