According to initial information, the accident occurred at about 5.40 am on National Highway 25 while the coach was travelling from Phu Tuc Commune to Pleiku Ward in Gia Lai Province.

While descending To Na Pass through Uar Commune, the vehicle reportedly lost control, veered onto the left roadside verge and overturned.
A 75-year-old passenger died at the scene. Two other passengers, aged 37 and 46, suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital by local residents.
There were seven people on board at the time of the crash, including five passengers.

Gia Lai Province Police said the initial cause appeared to be the driver failing to control speed while negotiating a bend on the pass road.
Authorities said rapid testing showed the driver had no alcohol in his system and tested negative for drugs.
