With this wealth, Vuong maintained his position as the richest person in Southeast Asia, well ahead of Indonesian billionaire Prajogo Pangestu, whose fortune stood at USD 23.4 billion.

Vuong’s net worth also surpassed that of Colin Huang, ranked 66th globally with USD 34.1 billion, and Lee Jae-yong, ranked 76th with USD 31.3 billion.

The sharp increase in Vuong’s fortune was driven by the strong rally of VIC shares and companies within the Vingroup ecosystem.

At the close of trading on May 6, VIC stock reached VND 224,000 per share, around 11 times higher than at the beginning of 2025.

Other members of Vuong’s family also recorded significant gains in wealth.
