Under a deadline set by the National Assembly, the project must be completed in 2026 despite challenges including material shortages, price fluctuations, payment bottlenecks and violations during construction.

To address the issues, Hung asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to complete the appointment of key leadership personnel before May 7 to improve project management and execution.

Working groups were also instructed to resolve financial and payment-related obstacles and secure construction material supplies.

The Ministry of Construction was tasked with guiding adjustments to material prices under existing contracts and coordinating with local authorities to ensure supply sources.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Security was told to speed up investigations into violations linked to the project and provide guidance on payments for completed works.

ACV was assigned overall responsibility for the progress and quality of Component Project 3, one of the airport’s main construction packages.

The prime minister instructed the company to establish detailed daily construction schedules, assign clear responsibilities and submit regular progress reports.

Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province were also directed to prioritise supplies of construction materials and manpower for the project.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc was assigned to oversee coordination among ministries and agencies to resolve remaining obstacles and keep the project on schedule.
