The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said conditions on May 6 would become sunnier as cloud cover thins and temperatures rise, though isolated thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening.
Across central Vietnam, brief showers may occur later in the day but are unlikely to persist. Areas from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh are set to see largely dry, sunny conditions.
From Quang Tri to Hue and along the south central coast, daytime sunshine will dominate, with scattered evening and night-time showers in some locations.
From May 7, northern and north central regions are expected to experience more widespread thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some areas. Authorities warned of accompanying hazards including whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong gusts.
In Hanoi, weather on May 6 is forecast to shift from a cloudy morning to hot sunshine by midday, with temperatures reaching around 33 degrees Celsius.
