Bui Thi Ninh and her family had long lived in a deteriorating stilt house in Quyet Thang Commune, Phu Tho Province, where rainwater leaked through the roof and storms brought constant fear of collapse.
The family is classified as poor. Her husband, Bui Van Bien, suffers from poor health and unstable mental condition, having fractured his leg multiple times, leaving him with limited mobility. Their eldest daughter studies far from home, while two younger children are still of school age.
With five family members to support, Ninh has carried the entire financial burden. Rebuilding the unsafe house had long been beyond her means.
After the family’s situation was reported by Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, readers and donors stepped in with financial support to help her build a new home.
Upon receiving more than VND 106 million (approximately USD 4,100), Ninh broke down in tears: “Thanks to everyone’s support, I can finally think about rebuilding our home.”
The family also took out a loan from the Social Policy Bank to construct a solid house.

Ninh said the new home is not only a safe shelter, but also a foundation for the family to improve their lives and gradually escape poverty.
“With a stable place to live, my children and I can focus on working and repaying our debts,” she said with a smile. “I am deeply grateful to Dantri readers for giving us this opportunity.”
