Local officials said on Tuesday they had deployed a large-scale enforcement campaign targeting reckless motorbike driving, illegal solicitation of tourists and encroachment on road safety corridors.

Recent weeks have seen worsening disorder at key junctions near the entrance to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park tourism zone, where motorbike taxi drivers and business staff were reported chasing tourist vehicles, handing out flyers and soliciting customers.
The practices posed traffic risks, tarnished the area’s tourism image and contributed to recurring pavement and roadside encroachment.
Three inspection teams have been formed to patrol identified hotspots, with video surveillance used to document violations.
Initial enforcement resulted in two cases being recorded and vehicles temporarily seized, while businesses along main routes were required to sign pledges not to tout for customers or occupy pavements illegally.
According to authorities, patrols would continue regularly, with further violations subject to strict penalties, forced removal of illegal structures and possible public disclosure of offending businesses.
