Two Indian tourists crescued after being swept out to sea in Danang

Two Indian tourists were rescued after being swept away by waves while swimming outside a designated safe area at a beach in the central city of Danang.

The incident occurred on April 27 at Tan Tra Beach, where a group of five Indian visitors had been walking along the shore. Two men entered the water beyond the buoy-marked safe swimming zone and were quickly carried offshore by strong waves.

A lifeguard on duty, Tran Van Cu, spotted the pair in distress and immediately swam out with a flotation device. The tourists, exhausted and panicked, were brought safely back to shore. They were later advised to rest before returning to their hotel.

The Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Beache Management Board urged visitors to follow lifeguards’ instructions, including flags and whistles, and to swim only within designated areas under supervision.

Danang is entering its peak beach tourism season, drawing tens of thousands of visitors daily. Authorities have stepped up safety measures, including increased lifeguard patrols and clearly marked swimming zones, to ensure the safety of beachgoers.
