Vung Tau draws 70,000 visitors during Hung Kings' holiday

Vung Tau Ward in HCM City attracted around 70,000 visitors during the three-day Hung Kings’ holiday, with Bai Sau Beach packed and traffic snarling Thuy Van Street at peak times.

Visitor numbers eased on Sunday afternoon as many holidaymakers left the city, bringing the holiday period to a close.

According to the Vung Tau Ward Public Service Centre, April 26 was the busiest day, with between 25,000 and 29,000 visitors.

Local authorities said beach conditions had improved significantly, with sea worms, jellyfish and algae largely reduced and seawater more stable, making swimming conditions more favourable.

Beach cleaning has been intensified, while rescue teams remained on constant standby to guide visitors to safe swimming areas and respond to emergencies.

To support visitors during the Hung Kings’ holiday and the upcoming Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day break, Vung Tau authorities encouraged businesses and public offices to provide free toilet access.

The ward also arranged 11 parking areas near major tourist hotspots.
