On April 26, Phan Van Binh, 45, from Quy Nhon Ward, said he encountered the dolphins earlier that morning while taking customers on a fishing trip in the Hon Kho sea area in Quy Nhon Dong Ward.
He estimated the pod at around 100 dolphins, swimming in groups and repeatedly surfacing before diving again, creating a striking scene. Two Japanese tourists were on board at the time.
Watching the dolphins glide across the sea surface, both visitors eagerly recorded the rare sight.
Binh said that after many years of taking customers fishing at sea, he had seen dolphins several times before, but never in such large numbers.
