On April 24, Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, together with the Hanoi Blind Association and authorities in Dong Anh Commune, visited and presented a symbolic donation board worth VND 114 million (approximately USD 4,390) to the family of Nguyen Van Manh in Mach Trang Hamlet.

The money was donated by readers through Dantri and had already been fully transferred to Nguyen Thi Chuot, Manh’s mother.
In addition, the Thien Tam Foundation of Vingroup provided the family with VND 20 million (approximately USD 770) and pledged monthly support of VND 1 million (approximately USD 38) for Thu, Manh’s daughter.
So far, the family has received a total of VND 134 million (approximately USD 5,150) in support.
Manh was born with severe visual impairment. His wife, Hang, suffers from disabilities caused by Agent Orange exposure and has difficulty walking. Their daughter has multiple disabilities, including cerebral palsy, and cannot speak, walk independently or care for herself.
Manh currently sings for the Bac Ninh Centre for Compassionate Arts, while Hang works as a street vendor. Both jobs are unstable, and the family mainly depends on social welfare support for people with disabilities.
His parents said they were deeply grateful to Dantri readers, local authorities and the Hanoi Blind Association for their kindness and promised to do their best to care for Thu.

On the same day, Dantri and local authorities also visited the family of Tran Thi Hien in Ly Nhan Hamlet and presented a symbolic donation board worth VND 123,676,067 (approximately USD 4,750).
The money was donated after Dantri published an article about her family and was transferred directly to her account.
According to Hien, readers also sent VND 35,509,520 (approximately USD 1,360) directly to her personal account, while the Thien Tam Foundation contributed another VND 10 million (approximately USD 385).
In total, her family has received VND 169 million (approximately USD 6,500).

Hien’s family includes three people with visual impairments and intellectual disabilities.
Her mother, Huong, has severe vision loss and intellectual disability and is unable to work. Her two sons, Duy Anh and Duy Khang, were born blind due to eyeball atrophy and also have developmental delays. Duy Khang is additionally deaf and unable to speak.
The burden of earning a living while caring for her elderly mother and sick children has placed enormous pressure on Hien and her husband.
Receiving the donations, Hien expressed heartfelt thanks to Dantri readers, benefactors, local authorities and the Hanoi Blind Association for their support.
