Dang Van Dan, 33, from Hanoi, said the incident happened a few days ago when he picked up a South Korean customer from his home in Hanoi for a business trip to Bac Ninh Province.
Dan lives with his wife and their five-year-old daughter in Hanoi. His wife works at a factory and leaves for work very early each morning, so he usually takes their daughter to school before starting his own working day.
However, on that particular day, the customer booked the ride early, before the school had opened.
“There was no other option, so I had to take my daughter with me,” Dan said.
He admitted he often feels awkward when bringing his daughter along while driving passengers, worrying that it may inconvenience them.
He always asks her to sit in the back row and reminds her to stay quiet to avoid disturbing customers.
Following her father’s instructions, the little girl remained silent throughout the journey and made no noise, meaning the passenger did not even realise she was there.
It was only after more than an hour on the road, when they were nearing their destination, that the South Korean passenger noticed the child sitting in the back.
What surprised Dan most was that the man did not seem annoyed. Instead, he smiled and gently started a conversation.
Before leaving the taxi, the passenger gave the girl a small amount of lucky money as a kind gesture.
The unexpected act deeply touched Dan, who quickly thanked him.
