Nearly 83 hectares of a forest in Mang Den Commune, Quang Ngai Province, will be converted to develop a 264-hectare urban project.

Lawmakers in Quang Ngai Province approved on April 24 a resolution allowing the change of forest land use an urban area project in Mang Den Commune.

The forest land lies in sub-zones 487 and 488, managed by Kon Plong Forestry Company and local authorities.

The conversion would not affect the province’s forestry land targets to 2030 and is in line with national forestry, provincial and land-use plans, official said.

The project spans more than 264 hectares with total investment exceeding VND 6.64 trillion (USD 252.5 million), located along National Highway 24 with favourable infrastructure links.

It is planned as an integrated sports and healthcare urban area, featuring sports complexes, fitness parks and outdoor training spaces.

The development will also include a healthcare ecosystem with a hospital, rehabilitation centres and wellness facilities combined with high-end resorts.

The project is expected to help build a modern urban area, create jobs and boost socio-economic development in the Mang Den area.
