The site will operate daily. During the spring-summer period (March-September), opening hours are 7-11 am and 1.30 - 6m pm. In autumn-winter (October-February), hours are 7-11 am and 1.30-5.30 pm.

The Dien Bien heritage management board said preparations have been completed to ensure effective operation and to preserve and promote the site’s historical and cultural value.
Located about 3 kilometres northeast of Dien Bien Phu City centre, the 136,900-square-metre site marks the opening battle of the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign on March 13, 1954.
Earlier, on March 8, the province inaugurated the second phase of a preservation and restoration project for the site, with total investment of VND 91 billion (USD 3.46 million). Key features include a 45-metre-long bas-relief covering 425 square metres, made from natural stone, and a hexagonally designed incense house.
