The airport said flight and passenger volumes during the April 30 holiday period are expected to increase by around 10 to 15 per cent compared with normal schedules.
The busiest day, April 29, 2026, is projected to see 652 flights, up 9.4 per cent from regular levels. Passenger numbers are estimated at 113,631, rising 15 per cent from normal operations and 12.4 per cent year on year.
International traffic is expected to reach 323 flights, up 7.3 per cent from normal schedules and 13 per cent compared with the same period in 2025, carrying 52,102 passengers, an increase of 12.3 per cent and 29.1 per cent respectively.
Domestic operations are forecast at 329 flights, up 11.5 per cent from normal levels and 2.8 per cent year on year, with 61,529 passengers, marking increases of 17.3 per cent and 1.3 per cent.
Airport representatives said that despite fluctuations in supply and fuel prices leading to some frequency cuts across the wider aviation market, Noi Bai continues to record stable growth, driven by new airlines and increased services from international partners.
To handle the holiday peak, the airport will implement level 1 security measures from April 29 to May 4, 2026.
Operations will include 98 check in counters at Terminal 1 and 144 at Terminal 2, including 48 newly added counters from the Terminal 2 expansion. The airport will also fully utilise its 16 baggage claim belts and 122 aircraft stands.
Authorities will coordinate with border police to maximise screening capacity, increase patrols, manage traffic flows and apply automated toll collection across all entry and exit lanes to reduce congestion.
All frontline staff will be deployed at full capacity, with 24/7 operations maintained. Ground services, transport providers and non aviation services have been instructed to enhance service readiness.
Passengers are advised to complete online check in or use biometric verification via the VNeID platform to reduce waiting times.
Travellers should arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures, as heightened security measures may extend processing times.
