The increase from 44 flights per hour will be in effect from April 25 to May 5, 2026, during daytime hours from 6 am to 11 pm, covering runway, taxiway and air traffic management operations.

CAAV director Uong Viet Dung said the adjustment follows a review of actual operating capacity and is aimed at optimising peak-hour slots, easing congestion, reducing airborne holding and prioritising key domestic and international routes.
The move is also expected to help cut fuel consumption amid tighter supply linked to tensions in the Middle East, while ensuring strict safety standards and maintaining stable airport operations during one of the year’s busiest travel periods.
