Residents in Lam Dong Province have discovered bone fragments and bullet casings while digging a house foundation, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

The Military Command of Duc Lap commune said on April 20 that it is coordinating with relevant units to secure the site and examine suspected war-era remnants.

The discovery was made by Nguyen Thanh Hung, a local resident, while excavating foundations at his home in Hamlet 2. He reported finding bone fragments, bullet casings and nylon materials to authorities.

Officials later cordoned off the area and began an initial investigation.

Preliminary findings include a bullet head, several suspected AK rifle casings, nylon fragments resembling military materials, electrical wires, a plastic knife sheath and multiple bone fragments.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the origin of the items.
