In a letter sent by Uong Viet Dung, head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, to the chief of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, concerns were raised over fuel shortages affecting Vietnamese carriers.
The letter said the ongoing crisis in the Middle East has caused major disruptions to global and regional oil supply chains, negatively impacting airline operations due to reduced availability of aviation fuel. Vietnamese airlines are facing similar pressures.

The request follows high level exchanges between Vietnam and China, including a recent state visit to China by To Lam, which reaffirmed the importance of broad bilateral cooperation.
Citing long standing ties and close coordination between aviation authorities, Vietnam urged China to instruct major fuel suppliers such as Sinopec, PetroChina and China National Offshore Oil Corporation to ensure sufficient and stable jet fuel supplies for Vietnamese importers under existing contracts.
According to the letter, such support would help Vietnamese airlines maintain stable operations on routes to China and meet travel demand between the two countries.
Earlier, the Ministry of Construction had asked the aviation authority to prepare operational scenarios for air transport amid volatility in Jet A 1 fuel prices.
