The incident occurred at about 6.30 am at Bai Sau beach, when the pair from Dong Nai Province were pulled offshore by strong waves. Despite efforts to swim back, they were pushed further out and showed signs of exhaustion.

Rescue workers responded quickly, reaching the victims and bringing them safely back to shore after several minutes in rough conditions.
Both showed signs of water inhalation and received first aid at the scene before stabilising, with no threat to their lives.
In recent days, worms and jellyfish have also been reported in waters off Vung Tau, causing itching and allergic reactions among beachgoers. Locals said the phenomenon is seasonal and is expected to subside within days.
