Tran Thanh Man landed in Turkey on April 15 to begin his working visit for the Inter Parliamentary Union Assembly 152, at the invitation of Tulia Ackson and Martin Chungong.
He is expected to deliver a keynote speech outlining Vietnam’s perspectives on global and regional issues, while proposing practical solutions to strengthen inter parliamentary cooperation in support of peace, stability and sustainable development.
During the assembly, Tran Thanh Man will meet parliamentary leaders from various countries, as well as officials from the Inter Parliamentary Union and international organisations. Vietnam’s National Assembly is also set to join discussions on improving legislative effectiveness, oversight and multilateral cooperation.
His participation underscores Vietnam’s proactive role within the IPU, including initiatives and contributions aimed at advancing the organisation’s resolutions and fostering global cooperation.
Alongside multilateral activities, the visit will include bilateral engagements in Turkey.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1978, ties between Vietnam and Turkey have steadily strengthened across multiple areas.
Parliamentary relations have also developed positively, with regular exchanges and coordination at inter parliamentary forums. Turkey has sent delegations to major events hosted by Vietnam’s National Assembly, including the Inter Parliamentary Union Assembly 132 in 2015 and the Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians 9.
Both legislatures have established friendship parliamentary groups, and the visit is expected to further enhance political trust, deepen parliamentary cooperation and strengthen broader bilateral relations.
