Vietnam secured a 4-0 victory over Australia on April 12 to claim the bronze medal at the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026 after a dominant performance throughout the third-place playoff.

Vietnam started aggressively, pushing forward from the opening minutes and applying sustained pressure on Australia’s defence.
Nhan Gia Hung opened the scoring in the third minute with a precise finish inside the box, giving Vietnam an early 1-0 lead. The team maintained a high tempo and continued to create chances. In the 18th minute, Chau Doan Phat doubled the advantage after a well-worked move with Da Hai, sending Vietnam into halftime 2-0 ahead.

Vietnam remained in control after the break. In the 21st minute, Thinh Phat turned and finished clinically from a pass by Chau Doan Phat to make it 3-0.
Australia attempted a power play in the closing stages but failed to penetrate Vietnam’s organised defence. Goalkeeper Pham Van Tu delivered a standout performance with several crucial saves.
The final goal came in the 39th minute when Pham Van Tu scored from his own half, sealing a comprehensive 4-0 win as Vietnam concluded the tournament with the bronze medal.
