Hanoi Passenger Transport JSC said it has prepared plans to increase services and ensure safety, order and regulated ticket sales during the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and Reunification Day (April 30), May Day holidays.

Director Pham Manh Hung said travel demand is likely to be more evenly distributed, as some passengers combine the holidays into longer breaks while others travel during shorter periods.
Peak outbound traffic is forecast for the afternoons of April 24 and 29, and on April 25 and 30, while return journeys are expected to concentrate on April 27 and May 4.
At Giap Bat Bus Station, passenger numbers could reach 9,000 per day, up more than 200 per cent, with around 760 bus trips, mainly serving routes to Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa.
Gia Lam Bus Station is projected to handle about 1,900 passengers daily, up over 100 per cent, with around 385 trips to destinations including Haiphong and Quang Ninh.
Meanwhile, My Dinh Bus Station is expected to serve more than 11,400 passengers per day at peak, up over 200 per cent, with more than 770 trips, particularly to northern provinces such as Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Dien Bien.
The company plans to deploy around 500 additional buses, split between long and short distance routes, with flexible adjustments based on demand. Contingency plans include leasing extra vehicles to ease congestion if needed.
Operators will also coordinate with city authorities to increase bus services connecting stations with central areas.
Authorities said inspections will be strengthened to ensure compliance with transport regulations, prevent overloading and fare violations, and maintain service quality.
Transport firms may seek fare increases due to higher fuel costs and uneven passenger flows, but operators have been instructed to strictly follow current pricing regulations.
