Vietnam Railways opens summer 2026 ticket sales

Vietnam Railways has launched ticket sales for peak summer travel from May 15 to August 16, with expanded services to meet rising passenger demand.

The sector will continue operating five pairs of north south trains between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including services SE1 to SE10.

Short haul routes linking Hanoi with key tourist destinations will also be expanded, with services NA1 and NA2 to Vinh, QB1 and QB2 to Dong Hoi, and high quality trains SE19 and SE20 to Danang.

In the south, additional services will connect Ho Chi Minh City with major destinations, including SE21 and SE22 to Danang, SE29 and SE30 to Quy Nhon, SNT1 and SNT2 to Nha Trang, and SPT1 and SPT2 to Phan Thiet.

Tourism routes will continue, including daily Heritage Connection trains between Danang and Hue, Hanoi-Lao Cai services and Hanoi-Haiphong line, with extra weekend departures. In Lam Dong Province, five daily train pairs will run on the Dalat-Trai Mat route, with additional services planned.

Vietnam Railways is offering a 10 per cent discount on return tickets for individual passengers, rising to 15 per cent on the Hanoi-Lao Cai route. Group bookings of 20 or more passengers will receive discounts of 3 to 9 per cent, while early bookings made at least 20 days in advance on key routes will be discounted by 5 to 10 per cent.

Existing fare concessions remain in place, with reductions for war veterans, the elderly, people with disabilities, students and children.
