Under a plan approved by the municipal People’s Committee, fireworks will run from 9 pm to 9.15 pm.
High altitude displays will take place at the Saigon River tunnel entrance in An Khanh Ward, the new urban centre in Binh Duong Ward, and Ba Ria Park Square in Ba Ria Ward.
Low altitude shows are planned at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward, the Saigon Marina IFC tower in Sai Gon Ward, Kim Long Villa area in Nha Be Commune, and the Can Gio coastal tourism urban area.
As part of the Unified Homeland festival, exhibitions will be held on Dong Khoi Street, at Chi Lang Park, Ba Cu Street in Vung Tau Ward and the Binh Duong administrative centre.
The city will also hold memorial ceremonies at martyrs’ cemeteries and offer incense and flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.
Cultural, artistic and sporting events are also planned, including a large scale performance from 7.30 pm to 9 pm at Nguyen Hue Street, the new urban centre park and Ba Ria Park Square.
