The 21 Thong Nhat Park , bordered by four major roads, will be developed into an open-access park serving both residents and visitors in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the centre of the park will be a multi-purpose building designed in the shape of an octopus, symbolising adaptability and resilience. The structure will combine exhibition space with service functions.
The park will also include themed zones dedicated to culture and history, science and art, and film and comics, with an emphasis on interactivity and community engagement.
Existing mature trees on the site will be fully preserved. Authorities plan to adopt an open park model to maximise accessibility from multiple directions.

At a meeting on April 8, local residents voiced strong support for the project, highlighting its potential to meet growing demand for recreation and public space.
Residents also proposed prioritising a large central plaza for community activities, particularly for children and students, as well as expanding parking areas. Many called for the project to be implemented quickly to make effective use of public land.
A representative of the Vung Tau Ward People’s Committee said authorities will incorporate public feedback before proceeding with the next steps in line with regulations. If approved on schedule, construction is expected to start in the third quarter and be completed by the end of 2026.
