On April 5, the Tan Thanh Commune People’s Committee confirmed the appearance of the animal in the wild within its administrative area.
Earlier, at around 4 pm on April 4, two residents from Ca Tom Hamlet reported seeing the crocodile swimming in Canal 42, near its intersection with Duong Van Duong Canal in Tan Thanh Commune.
Following the sighting, local authorities urged residents to exercise caution, particularly when travelling or carrying out activities near canals and ditches. Parents have also been advised to prevent children from swimming in the area to ensure their safety.
The Tan Thanh Commune People’s Committee has called on anyone who spots the crocodile to report it immediately to local authorities or Tan Thanh Commune Police via 02723844087 so that it can be safely captured and handled.
