Lawmakers in Lang Son Province have urged Sun Group to expedite phase one of the Mau Son eco-tourism and cable car complex, aiming to bring the project into operation by late 2027.

At a meeting in Hanoi on April 3, the Lang Son National Assembly delegation discussed progress on the project with Sun Group, with senior provincial leaders in attendance.

Head of the delegation, Tran Sy Thanh, said the project is a key development expected to drive local socio-economic growth. Although construction began in mid-2022, progress was later interrupted before showing signs of resuming recently.

He added that local authorities and residents have called for faster implementation to unlock the tourism potential of Mau Son.

Sun Group representatives said the project is a strategic investment with significant potential and is expected to become a flagship development within the company’s portfolio.

The group confirmed plans to restart construction in 2026, with phase one works set to begin this year and a target of completion by the end of 2027.

Mau Son, located about 30km from Lang Son City, is known for its mountainous terrain, including around 80 peaks with the highest, Phia Po, at 1,541 metres, as well as its forests, streams and waterfalls.

The eco-tourism and cable car complex will cover more than 692 hectares, with a total investment exceeding VND 7.3 trillion, developed by Mau Son Sun Company.
