Authorities in Hong Gai Ward said the incident occurred on the evening of March 28, when the 29-year-old victim, climbed the mountain alone to take photographs.
Police received reports at around 7.30 pm that the man had fallen on the mountain. Rescue teams, including emergency services and local residents, launched a search and reached him at about 8.12 pm, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to his family, the man, a graphic design student at Ha Long University, had left home at around 4.30 pm with a camera and went missing later that evening.
Preliminary findings indicate that he slipped and fell while climbing alone after dark, despite warning signs and restrictions in place.
Access to Bai Tho Mountain has been officially closed since 2017 due to safety concerns, with barriers and warning notices installed. However, some people have continued to create unofficial paths to reach the site.
