The An Nhut rice field, located about 30 km from Vung Tau Ward, shows a vivid contrast between ripe golden rice and younger green crops when viewed from above.

Photographer Tran Phuong visited the site early on March 22 to capture the scene using a drone, documenting farmers harvesting, bundling straw and transporting rice across the fields.

The effect is caused by staggered planting schedules, with different plots maturing at different times. However, the landscape changes quickly as harvesting progresses, making the phenomenon short lived.

Early morning and late afternoon are considered the best times for photography, when soft light enhances the contrast and highlights dew on the rice. At sunset, the sky’s red tones further enrich the visual appeal.

Divided by narrow paths and irrigation channels and framed by distant hills, the field has long been a popular destination for visitors seeking rural scenery.

The area typically sees three harvests a year, with late March to mid April offering the most photogenic conditions due to dry weather and ripening crops.
