The aircraft carrying the Vietnamese leader and a high-level delegation landed at Vnukovo-2 international airport at 5 pm local time, where an official welcome ceremony was held.

The ceremony was chaired by Russian deputy foreign minister Andrey Yurevich Rudenko, with senior Russian officials, Vietnamese ambassador Dang Minh Khoi, embassy staff and members of the Vietnamese community in attendance.
This is the first visit by a senior Vietnamese leader to Russia in 2026. During the trip, Pham Minh Chinh is scheduled to hold talks with Mikhail Mishustin and meet President Vladimir Putin, Federation Council chair Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in areas including trade, investment, infrastructure, science and technology, education, culture, as well as energy sectors such as nuclear power and oil and gas.
The prime minister will also lay flowers at the monument to Ho Chi Minh and the tomb of the unknown soldier, and meet veterans, friendship organisations and contributors to Vietnam-Russia relations.
His agenda includes meetings with leaders of major Russian corporations, engagements with businesses, visits to educational and high-tech facilities, and meetings with embassy staff and the Vietnamese community.
The visit is expected to promote cooperation across multiple sectors and deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
