According to local police, Nguyen Duc Hoa, 53, found the slow loris, weighing about 0.4 kilogrammes, in a corner of his home several days earlier. The animal was reported to be in stable condition.

Hoa protected the animal before handing it over to authorities.
After receiving the loris, police and forest rangers conducted a health check, provided care and later released it into its natural habitat.
The pygmy slow loris (Nycticebus pygmaeus) is classified in Group IB of Vietnam’s Red Book, meaning it is a rare and endangered species given the highest level of protection.
