According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed about 1.4 million visitors in the first two months of 2026, including around 56,000 international arrivals. Authorities aim to attract 8 million visitors this year and generate tourism revenue of VND 11 trillion (USD 418 million).
Nguyen Chu Thu, deputy director of the department, said the province is mobilising investment to upgrade tourism infrastructure and introduce policy incentives to attract investors.

Between 2026 and 2027, development efforts will focus on improving infrastructure, services and tourism products around Nui Coc and Ba Be lakes, which are positioned as flagship destinations for the province’s tourism sector.
Building on its reputation as Vietnam’s leading tea-growing region, Thai Nguyen has expanded tea-based tourism, with areas such as Tan Cuong, La Bang and Quan Chu offering activities including tea picking, roasting and tastings.
The Thai Hai stilt-house village, a five-star OCOP-certified community tourism site, has also emerged as a major attraction for international visitors.
Thai Nguyen is also expanding MICE tourism and developing golf, sports and adventure tourism in areas such as Vo Nhai and Then Sa to attract higher-spending visitors.
As part of its smart tourism strategy, the province is digitising tourism data and services, allowing visitors to access information, provide feedback and use smart tourism cards for payments at major attractions.
