The national carrier said it would operate additional return services on March 6, 8, 19, 21, 22, 24 and 26, with departures scheduled around midday and in the afternoon to accommodate festivalgoers.
Vietnam Airlines currently runs two daily flights on the Hanoi-Dien Bien route. The extra services are aimed at meeting peak demand and maintaining stable air links with Dien Bien Province.
Le Hong Ha, the airline’s chief executive, said sustaining regional routes was not only about meeting passenger demand but also about strengthening connectivity and supporting socio-economic development.
“The airline works closely with local authorities to increase frequency during high-demand periods, helping to promote tourism, trade and development opportunities,” he said.
With a domestic network covering 22 airports, Vietnam Airlines operates key routes linking regions across the country and regularly boosts capacity during major holidays and festivals.
In the longer term, the carrier plans to expand its fleet and further enhance connectivity, with potential adjustments to flight frequency depending on infrastructure capacity and market demand.
The 2026 Ban Flower Festival will be held in Dien Bien from March 6-12.
