In the opening match, Tran Quyet Chien faced Germany’s Martin Horn in a gripping encounter.
Tran Quyet Chien surged ahead 10-2, 15–3 and 16-5 before Horn responded with a remarkable 12-point run to edge in front 17-16. The German cueist closed the first half leading 23-19 and continued to hold a narrow advantage at 26-20 and 30-29.
The turning point came when Tran Quyet Chien produced an 11-point burst to seal a 40-30 victory after 17 innings, giving Vietnam a 1-0 lead.

On the adjacent table, Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu maintained control against Ibraimov, edging a tight contest 40-38 to secure an overall 2-0 triumph for Vietnam.

The result marks Vietnam’s second World Team Three-Cushion Championship title, following their maiden triumph in 2024, when Tran Quyet Chien partnered Bao Phuong Vinh to lift the trophy.
