The sanction stems from a red card he received at the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 finals.

Dinh Bac was among Vietnam U23’s key players in their men’s football gold medal at SEA Games 33 and their third-place finish at the continental tournament. He was sent off in the third-place playoff against the Republic of Korea U23 team.

He was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Lee Chan Wook. Despite playing with 10 men, Vietnam U23 went on to win the match on penalties.

The AFC later classified the foul as “serious” and imposed a two-match suspension along with a USD 1,000 fine.

As Dinh Bac is no longer eligible for U23 competitions, the suspension will be enforced at senior international level. If called up, he will be unavailable for the qualifier against Malaysia in March 2026.
