Lam Dong welcomed more than 910,000 visitors between Feb. 18 and 20, including 60,000 foreigners, up 29 per cent from the 2025 Tet holiday, with revenue estimated at over VND 1.8 trillion (USD 68.44 million), the provincial tourism department said.
Average occupancy at tourist accommodation facilities reached 75-80 per cent, rising to 85-95 per cent at three- to five-star hotels. Other lodging types reported rates of 65-75 per cent. In Lam Vien-Dalat Ward, many properties were fully booked.
Quach Long Hai, who runs a hotel on Nguyen Cong Tru Street, said rooms for the second to sixth days of Tet had been reserved in advance. “We are fully booked, but guests keep calling or coming in to ask for rooms. This year, rates are about three times higher than usual,” he said.
Nguyen Xuan Quang, a homestay owner in Langbiang-Dalat Ward, about 7 kilometres from the Dalat centre, said all rooms had also been booked before the holiday. He added that strong Tet demand helped offset losses caused by prolonged bad weather late last year.
Hoang Minh Nhat, manager of a resort in the Tuyen Lam National Tourism Area, said the property hosted nearly 1,300 guests on the third day of Tet alone, including domestic and foreign tour groups.
Major attractions such as Dalat Night Market, Lam Vien Square, Yersin Park and Xuan Huong Lake were crowded, while traffic congestion occurred on several central streets. Police were deployed at key junctions to ease bottlenecks and ensure public safety.
The provincial tourism authority said businesses were required to comply with food safety regulations, improve service quality and adhere to listed prices during the holiday period.
