
The cold front began affecting the northeastern area on the evening of February 17, bringing light rain in some places and causing temperatures to drop by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Forecasters say the cold air will continue to expand across other parts of the northeast overnight, before spreading to the north central region and parts of the northwest and central areas. From the evening of February 17 to February 19, northern and north central provinces are expected to see scattered rain and drizzle.
During this period, the north and Thanh Hoa will experience cold conditions at night, with mountainous areas seeing more severe chill. The lowest temperatures are forecast to range between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius, falling below 15 degrees Celsius in higher elevations.
In Hanoi, light rain and drizzle are expected from the evening of February 17 through February 19, accompanied by colder weather. Minimum temperatures in the capital are predicted to hover between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius.
