The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said temperatures will increase from February 10, bringing an end to the recent severe cold spell. The northern delta and midlands are expected to record 17-20 degrees Celsius, while mountainous areas will see 14-17 degrees Celsius.
A weak cold air mass is forecast to strengthen slightly to the east around February 11-12 before weakening again. Temperatures are not expected to fall, though the northeast may still see scattered light rain on the night of February 10 and throughout February 11.
It will remain cold across the region, with some mountainous areas still experiencing intense cold.
From Thanh Hoa to Hue, scattered rain is forecast, becoming more widespread from February 11. Nights and early mornings will stay cold, particularly in the northern part of the area on the night of February 10 and throughout February 11.
The south-central coast is expected to see scattered showers and thunderstorms on February 10, with isolated rain in the southern part in the late afternoon and evening. On the night of February 10 and throughout February 11, scattered rain and showers are forecast, with isolated thunderstorms.
The Central Highlands and southern Vietnam are expected to remain sunny during the day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms at night. Forecasters warned of possible whirlwinds, lightning and strong gusts during storms.

Another cold air reinforcement is forecast around February 21-22, which could cause temperatures in northern Vietnam to drop sharply.
