Hanoi City Police’s Traffic Police Department said on February 9 that it had increased staffing and rolled out diversion and regulation plans to maintain order and safety.
Officers have been deployed at key intersections, major arteries and city gateways, working closely with local police to guide traffic and respond quickly to incidents.
Traffic has remained heavy on routes including Ring Road 3, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien and Nguyen Xien, as well as the Lang-Truong Chinh-Nguyen Trai-Khuat Duy Tien corridor.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Duc Canh, from Traffic Police Team 3, said traffic volumes had risen sharply in the days before Tet, while prolonged rain and cold conditions increased the risk of congestion.
Traffic Police Team 7 has maintained a constant presence at major junctions throughout the day, supported by mobile patrols to deal with incidents and prevent bottlenecks.
