The city police said on February 8 they had launched criminal proceedings and remanded four people in custody over the sale of counterfeit cosmetics online. Those detained were identified as Le Thi Kim Tuyen, 36, Le Thi Hoai Hiep, 35, Nguyen Thi Thuy Hien, 32, and Thai Vi Khuong, 39.
Investigators said coordinated raids were carried out at multiple warehouses in Linh Xuan Ward, Thong Tay Hoi Ward and An Hoi Tay Ward.
Police allege that from the beginning of 2025 the group put more than 10,000 counterfeit perfume bottles on the market, imitating well-known brands including Chanel, BVL, Versace, Burberry, Tomford and Dolce & Gabbana. The goods were valued at about VND 10 billion (USD 408,000) at genuine retail prices.

Authorities said the counterfeit products were not subject to quality inspection and could pose serious long-term health risks to consumers.
Police described the operation as part of an economic crime crackdown aimed at protecting consumer rights. The case remains under investigation, with officers seeking to identify additional suspects and expand the inquiry.
