Residents gathered early on Thursday at the Party Committee headquarters in Bo Ha Commune, Bac Ninh Province, to receive gifts donated by readers of Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper.
Following the historic floods in 2025, many families in the area experienced disrupted lives, damaged property, and significant hardship. The Tet gifts distributed on this occasion provided timely encouragement, instilling hope as the Lunar New Year approached.
The event, organised by Dantri Newspaper in collaboration with the Bac Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society and the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bo Ha Commune, distributed 100 Tet gift packages to disadvantaged households affected by natural disasters in 2025.
Each gift package included VND 1 million (approximately USD 39) in cash and a Tet jam box worth VND 100,000 (approximately USD 3.90), handed directly to residents just before the New Year.
This event is part of the programme, implemented by Dantri Newspaper in areas that experienced severe natural disasters in 2025.

Speaking at the event, Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan stated: “The Tet gifts distributed today represent the shared compassion of Dantri readers nationwide, extended to the people of Bo Ha Commune.
We hope these gifts will alleviate some of the worries for residents in the final days of the year, allowing them to celebrate Tet with greater peace and completeness.”
Le Thi Duyen, Standing Committee member of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society, emphasised that the programme not only provides material support but also offers timely spiritual encouragement.
“Through the connection facilitated by Dantri Newspaper, acts of kindness have been transformed into tangible gifts, allowing residents to feel cared for and supported as Tet approaches,” Duyen said.

Representing the local authorities, Nguyen Chi Hieu, Secretary of the Bo Ha Commune Party Committee, stated: “After the floods, the locality focused on overcoming the consequences and gradually stabilising residents' lives.
Support activities during Tet, such as today's programme, are highly practical, helping residents feel more secure as they enter the New Year.”

During the gift-giving ceremony, many residents emotionally recalled the days of rising floodwaters and disrupted lives.
Nguyen Thi Thanh from Tan An Hamlet, Bo Ha Commune, shared that the Tet gift not only helped her family with expenses for new clothes for the children but also represented care and sharing, bringing warmth to her heart after many turbulent months.
The same day, the delegation travelled to Bo Cho Village to visit and inaugurate a house for Hoang Thi Tham's family.

Tham's house began construction on October 17, 2025, during a visit by Dantri Newspaper to provide VND 200 million (USD 7,800 in aid to Bac Ninh Province residents to help overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods.
With support from Dantri readers, local authorities, social organisations, and philanthropists, the house was built, providing Tham with a solid home and greater peace of mind.
On the day she received her new home, Tham emotionally thanked Dantri readers, philanthropists, local authorities, and social organisations for their care and support during her family's difficult period. For her, the house is a foundation to overcome loss and step into the Lunar New Year with greater stability.
To help residents in disaster-stricken areas celebrate a more complete and reunited Tet, Dantri Newspaper launched a programme-Spreading love and sharing with 1,000 flood-affected households.
Beneficiaries are households in northern, central, and Central Highlands provinces severely affected by the 2025 floods, including: poor and near-poor households; policy families, elderly living alone, orphaned children; and households with exceptionally difficult circumstances, who have lost homes and property.
