The displays will be launched simultaneously at midnight on February 17 and will last about 10 to 15 minutes.
The former fireworks site at Opera House Square, which usually draws large crowds, will not be used this year. Authorities have revised the plan, spreading launch sites across multiple areas to better serve residents and ease traffic pressure in the old city centre.
Five locations will host high-altitude fireworks combined with low-level displays, including the Bac Song Cam administrative centre and the Vinhomes Vu Yen urban area in Thuy Nguyen, Xu Dong cultural centre square, Hanh Phuc lake in Kien An, and Kien Hai stadium.
Seven low-level fireworks displays will take place in outlying areas, including sites in Kien Thuy, Cat Hai and Cat Ba, An Duong, several suburban stadiums, and the western urban area of Nam Sach.
