The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from February 2 to 5, northern Vietnam will see mostly cloudy skies, with fog at night and in the morning and warm sunshine during the day, as daytime highs rise above 22 degrees Celsius.
From February 6 to 7, however, the region will be affected by a new northeast monsoon, bringing rain and colder weather. Widespread severe cold or extreme cold conditions are not expected, the centre said.
Central Vietnam is forecast to remain mostly cloudy with rain, concentrated from Ha Tinh to Danang on February 2 and 3, before easing on February 5 and 6. Rain is expected to return on February 7 under the influence of the incoming cold air mass.
Southern Vietnam and the Central Highlands are expected to see stable weather next week, with dry nights and light morning fog. The Central Highlands will be slightly cold at night and early morning, with sunny conditions during the day and highs of 26-29 degrees Celsius. In southern Vietnam, night and early morning temperatures will range from 20-23 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 31-33 degrees Celsius.
