On January 20, Nhon My Commune police said they coordinated with the local military command to handle a dangerous explosive device found in the area.

Earlier, Trieu Van Phuol, 31, a resident of My Hoa Hamlet, spotted a metal object resembling an artillery round while passing through overgrown grass in the My Hoa residential area. Recognising the danger, he left the object untouched and alerted authorities.
Police and local military forces cordoned off the site and warned residents to stay away from the area.
Following technical inspection, authorities identified the object as a mortar shell approximately 40cm in length, still capable of exploding if subjected to external impact.
After securing the area and ensuring public safety, bomb disposal units collected and handled the shell in accordance with regulations.
