Hot air balloons on display at the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival
The large-scale balloon programme is expected to be a centrepiece of the festival, enhancing its visual appeal and overall visitor experience.
The display will include 34 hot air balloons and decorative inflatables symbolising Vietnam’s 34 newly reorganised provinces and cities. These will include two level seven balloons for tethered rides and 20 level one balloons for static display.
A highlight of the programme will be the balloon lantern night on the evening of December 31 at Sa Dec Square, when the balloons will be illuminated simultaneously, creating a lantern like effect accompanied by music and lighting.
Tethered balloon flights will take place in the morning and afternoon, offering short ascents to heights of about 40 to 50 metres. Visitors will also be able to enter a level seven balloon for sightseeing and photography.
Organisers said all balloon activities will comply with international safety standards and will depend strictly on weather conditions. In unfavourable weather, schedules may be adjusted or flights postponed to ensure public safety.
The hot air balloon programme is expected to add a fresh attraction to the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival, helping promote the city as a creative and vibrant destination ahead of the 2026 New Year.
