Fireworks displays are organised by the bank of the Saigon River during the Reunification Day celebrations on April 30, 2025.
Under the plan for welcoming 2026, high altitude fireworks will be launched at three locations: the Saigon River tunnel entrance in An Khanh Ward, the new urban centre in Binh Duong, and Tam Thang square in Vung Tau Ward.
Several low altitude displays will also take place, including at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward and the Saigon Marina IFC tower in Sai Gon Ward. Alongside the fireworks, a range of art and entertainment programmes will be staged throughout the night.
To maintain order and ease congestion as large crowds gather, all vehicles will be banned from more than 20 central streets from 9 pm on December 31 until 1 am on January 1. These include Le Loi, Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi and Ton Duc Thang.
Other affected roads are Nguyen Huu Canh, Vo Van Kiet, Ngo Van Nam, Nguyen Sieu, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ham Nghi, Hai Trieu and Nguyen Thiep.
Additional closures apply to Huynh Thuc Khang, Ton That Thiep, Nguyen Cong Tru, Mac Thi Buoi, Hai Ba Trung, Ho Tung Mau and Ton That Dam.
Streets around Me Linh square, including Ngo Duc Ke, Ho Huan Nghiep and Thi Sach, as well as areas near Ba Son bridge and Khanh Hoi, will also be closed to traffic.
Outside the city centre, several roads in the former Binh Duong new urban centre will be closed from 8 pm on December 31, including Hung Vuong, Le Loi and Huynh Thuc Khang.
In the Bai Sau central square area in Vung Tau Ward, vehicles will be banned from Thuy Van, Le Hong Phong, Tran Chanh Chieu and Le Van Tho streets from 9 pm on December 31.
