Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and Dentsu Vietnam Services Co Ltd on December 29 delivered VND 165 million (about USD 6,600) to 33 households in Son Hoa Commune, Dak Lak Province, which suffered heavy losses during historic flooding.

Each household received VND 5 million (around USD 200), to help buy livestock, poultry and essential items, supporting a gradual return to production and daily life after the disaster.

Son Hoa was among the hardest hit areas during severe floods in November, when rapidly rising waters swept away property, submerged homes and destroyed crops built up over decades by many families.
Local authorities said about 4,000 houses were flooded, 39 collapsed entirely and more than 4,800 hectares of crops were damaged. Thousands of livestock and poultry died and many infrastructure works were damaged. Total losses were estimated at more than VND 570 billion (about USD 22.8 million).
So Minh Chien, Chairman of the Son Hoa People’s Committee, thanked the donors for their continued support, noting this was the second time residents had received assistance from Dantri.

Nguyen Trong Phe, 70, from Bai Dieu hamlet, said the support was not only financial but also a major source of encouragement for his family after their home was completely destroyed by floods.

After receiving state support to rebuild his house, he said the donated funds would be used to buy pigs and chickens to gradually restore his family’s livelihood.
Ngo Thanh Sang, image production director at Dentsu Vietnam Services, said supporting flood hit communities was part of the company’s social responsibility, expressing hope the timely aid would help families overcome losses, stabilise their lives and resume production.
