Dalat to host month-long cherry blossom festival

Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will host a month-long cherry blossom festival to mark the 2026 New Year, featuring a range of cultural and artistic events.

The Dalat Cherry Blossom Festival 2026, scheduled to run from January 15 to February 15, aims to celebrate a cherry blossom variety distinctive to Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

Main activities include opening and closing ceremonies and New Year celebrations at Lam Vien Square, along with a decorative “Lighted Flower Street” on Tran Hung Dao Street. The festival coincides with the peak cherry blossom season and the 2026 Lunar Year of the Horse.

A range of side events will also be held, including the launch of a tourism map highlighting cherry blossom viewing routes; blossom exhibitions; free coffee tastings under the theme “Meet Again in Blossom Season” at Tuyen Lam National Tourism Area; displays titled “Cherry Blossoms over Cau Dat Tea Hills”; and “A Cherry Blossom Dream in the Valley” at the Valley of Love tourist site.

At Xuan Huong Park and along Tran Hung Dao Street, organisers will stage a photography exhibition themed “Colours of Cherry Blossoms”, a children’s painting contest, and a mass dance competition titled “Cherry Blossoms-Langbiang” in Langbiang Ward.

Cherry blossoms are widely cultivated across Dalat’s urban areas and neighbouring areas such as Lac Duong and Duc Trong. They typically bloom from late in the year through March, when the city enters its most picturesque season.
