Representatives from Dantri/Dtinews and Chieng Sing Commune present 20 scholarships to children in Dien Bien Province on December 17.

At the inauguration of eight homes for struggling families in Dien Bien's Chieng Sinh Commune on December 17, Dantri awarded the scholarships to 20 students in difficult circumstances across the commune. Each scholarship was worth VND 500,000 (USD 20). While modest in amount, the funds are a meaningful encouragement for the children in this remote mountainous area.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Xuan Toan, deputy editor-in-chief of Dantri, said he was moved to see the radiant faces of the children receiving their scholarships.

“We believe that each scholarship awarded today will not only help children buy books and school supplies,” he said, “but will also serve as encouragement and motivation for them to study hard and strive for success. Dantri will continue to accompany children in disadvantaged areas across the country, helping to nurture their dreams for the future.”

Ha Cam Hong, secretary of the Chieng Sinh Party Committee, said the commune currently has more than 1 300 people receiving monthly social allowances, including many students from poor and near-poor households.
